Early absentee voting begins Feb. 6 (Thursday) and Feb. 7 (Friday) in counties with annual school or special elections Feb. 11.
The Thursday and Friday voting dates are different from past years, as early voting used to occur on Friday and Monday. Early Monday voting will no longer be available.
Bill 869, effective as of Nov. 1, is responsible for the change in dates for early absentee voters in Oklahoma.
The hours for early voting are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at a voter's county election board office.
No Saturday early morning voting will occur this month.
"These changes help County Election Board officials place their focus entirely on Election Day preparations, instead of conducting early voting during the day immediately preceding an election," the state election board secretary said.
