Suspect Crashes Vehicle After Chase Through Midtown

Posted: Updated:

An individual was taken to an area hospital early Friday morning after leading Tulsa deputies on a high speed pursuit.

Authorities with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office told KTUL that the incident began around 2:30 a.m. near 48th and Peoria.

Deputies state that the suspect was driving a silver vehicle at a high rate of speed in the area and the officer attempted to make a traffic stop. Moments later the vehicle pulled over but took off when the officer got out of his vehicle.

It wasn't until the suspect turned onto a one-way street that he ran off the road and crashed landing on its side. Emergency crews used extrication equipment to remove him from the vehicle.

At this time his condition is unknown but officials state that he suffered minor injuries. They expect to book him into the jail for eluding an officer and reckless driving.
