Road conditions in the major metro areas of Oklahoma are looking pretty good while conditions in other areas are still slick. The slickest roads are in the southern and southeastern parts of the state, where crews are salting and sanding.
This includes I-35 in Love, Carter and Murray counties as well as US-69/US-75 south from McAlester. State officials are discouraging drivers from traveling in these areas tonight and tomorrow morning.
Officials are reminding drivers to give salt and sand trucks plenty of room. Drivers should avoid passing and stay at least 200 feet behind them.
Roads in the panhandle are improving but still have some slick spots. Tulsa and Oklahoma City roads are generally clear but drivers should expect some black ice to develop overnight and into the morning.
