Copan School Bond Issue To Be Decided Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

Copan voters will consider two propositions tomorrow that would allow for facility and equipment upgrades and purchases for Copan Public Schools, according to a Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise article published on Sunday.

Proposition 1 would provide $345,000 to build, remodel, equip or repair school buildings as well as equipment, furniture and fixtures.

Proposition 2 is geared toward the purchase of transportation equipment with an allowance of $40,000.

The district's superintendent, Rick Ruckman, said that he has a long list of things we would like to accomplish with the money.

This includes replacing a leaking roof, new heating and air units, installing magnetic locks on various buildings and constructing an awning over a student pick up and drop off point at the north entrance.

These proposals replace an expiring bond so residents would not see an increase in taxes it they pass.

Polls will be open tomorrow Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
