Tulsa, Oklahoma -

A Tulsa man is behind bars this morning after being accused of beating his brother-in-law to death with a skateboard and a baseball bat.

Pedro Castro, 26, was booked into the Tulsa County Jail early Wednesday morning on a complaint of first degree murder.

Police were called to a home near 46th East Avenue and Sheridan Road around 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Officers found Juan Luis Mendoza, 34, dead in the driveway.

According to an arrest report, witnesses told police Castro had been arguing with his sister, Mendoza’s wife, and the dispute turned physical. Mendoza intervened to break it up.

Investigators said the fighting stopped temporarily when Castro left. Mendoza was helping his wife with her wounds, and she left for the hospital. Mendoza stayed home and Castro came back and the two quarreled again.

Castro beat Mendoza with a skateboard and a baseball bat before fleeing the scene, according to the police report.

Mendoza was also stabbed, the report states.

Castro is being held in the Tulsa County Jail without bond.
