Firefighters Uninjured after Crashing Through Floor of Office Building

Posted: Updated:

Two Tulsa Fire Department firefighters are uninjured after falling through the floor on the second story of a building while battling a fire late last night and into the morning hours today.

Upon arriving on scene at the Becco Contractors office building on the 1800 block of East 15th Street, crews found thick smoke enveloping the building, according to TFD assistant fire chief Doug Woods.

"It was so thick they could hardly see the structure when the pulled up on the street," Woods said.

The first arriving crews made interior attack on the building and could not locate the fire on the first floor, so they ventured up to the second floor.

The fire was located on the second floor. It was on the second story of the building that two firefighters fell through the floor.

Both firefighters involved were not seriously injured and required no medical treatment, Woods said.

Woods reported heavy smoke damage throughout the building and fire damage from the second floor to the roof.
