Power crews are restoring power after high winds and transformer issues have knocked out power to about to hundreds of Public Service Company of Oklahoma customers.

The utility company's website listed 247 outages in Tulsa County as of 1:30 p.m. Earlier this morning as many as 2,800 customers were without power.

Some of the areas in Tulsa without power are 96th and Riverside and the ORU area. Some businesses in the area delayed opening while they waited for power to be restored.

PSO officials said that the strong winds are to blame for the power outages. Crews are working around town to restore power as issues come up.

The outages occurred after the power lines on the pole landed on top of tires. The tire shop was not damaged during the fire. Residents and businesses in the area are without power.
