Judge Reschedules Hearing for Aunt Facing Murder Charges

Posted: Updated:

A woman charged with the death of two children at a south Tulsa apartment complex fire appeared in court Monday.

Both sides in Miashah Moses' court case appeared for a scheduled hearing Monday morning. She currently faces two second degree murder charges.

Court records indicate that the judge in the case approved for Moses to hire her own attorney. She was previously represented by a public defender.

Moses entered a not guilty plea back in November.

Previous reports from KTUL state that police said she had left the 4-year-old and 18-month-old alone when the cooking fire started November 18 at the London Square Apartments near South Lewis Avenue and 61st Street.

Moses reportedly told police she'd left the apartment for just a moment. But witnesses have a different account and that's what police had to sort out, how long the kids were left alone.

She is due back in court on March 26.
