Crash Ties Up Riverside Traffic

Posted: Updated:

A four-car wreck tied up rush hour traffic on one of south Tulsa's busiest roads Monday evening.  TPD officers were dispatched to the scene at 67th and Riverside at about 3:14 p.m..

It all started when a driver suffered a medical incident, causing them to lose control of their small black Hyundai, according to TPD Officer Kerry Whitten.

The Hyundai was being driven northbound on Riverside when it crossed the raised median and collided with another compact car traveling south in the inside lane.

Then the two compacts entered the southbound outside lane due to the impact causing two other vehicles to be involved in the accident.

Officer Whitten told us that there were no major injuries.

The driver of the Hyundai was taken to a local hospital after being treated at the scene and it was determined that they were having a medical issue not caused by the collision.

Southbound traffic was diverted to the east at 66th street and northbound traffic was restricted to one lane for about three hours.
