Posted: Updated:

The Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that Oilers forward Adam Pleskach has been named the CHL Rookie of the Month for February.

While helping the Oilers to a 9-1-0 record in February, Pleskach netted five goals and dished out six assists. Playing on the left wing alongside Ben Gordon and Ryan Menei, Pleskach closed out February with a +10 rating and registered at least a single point in seven of the Oilers’ ten games. The 25-year old enjoyed his best outing of the month on February 21 against the Quad City Mallards when he scored the game-winning goal and assisted on two other Tulsa tallies to cap off his 13th multi-point contest of the season.

A product of American International University, Pleskach gained his first pro experience in ten games with the Evansville Icemen (ECHL) at the end of the 2012-13 campaign. This season, the Manitoba native joined the Oilers in early November and put up 11 points (5 goals, 6 assists) in his first week on the job. Pleskach leads all CHL rookies with 30 goals and is averaging over a point per game this season with 53 points in 50 games. Pleskach has scored more goals than any other Oilers rookie since Jim Dahl found the net 35 times during the 2005-06 season.

Pleskach and the Oilers return to home ice this Friday, March 7 at 7:35 p.m. to begin a two-game series against the Rapid City Rush. Saturday, March 8 is Budweiser Military Night presented by Oklahoma Army National Guard. The Oilers will wear special patriotic themed jerseys which will be auctioned off immediately following the game to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation.
