100-Plus Dogs Rescued from Sand Springs Puppy Mill

Posted: Updated:

More than one hundred dogs were rescued from a puppy mill in Sand Springs this afternoon.

According to a representative with the Humane Society of Tulsa, 103 dogs were rescued from the home of an elderly couple. The couple called the Humane Society after realizing they were in over their heads.

Many of the dogs rescued are elderly and nameless after spending their entire lives breeding.

The dogs are a variety of breeds, including chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier and poodles.

The sheriff's office says no criminal charges will be filed because the couple asked for help.

The Humane Society is asking for supplies to help with the animals rescued today. They are also asking for adopters that would be willing to take senior pets.

You can reach the Humane Society of Tulsa at (918) 495-3647 or on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/TulsaHumane.
