A person of interest has been identified after a man was found dead inside an apartment near Brookside.

Officers are still trying to locate Scott Platz after an unidentified 20-year-old man was found dead with severe head trauma in a garage apartment near 42nd and Rockford.

Platz is described as being a white male, 5 foot 9 inches in height and 155 pounds.

Homicide detectives were called to assist due to the nature of the death. No weapon was recovered from the scene.

It is uncertain when the 20-year-old died. But investigators believe it to have been within the past five days.

Tulsa Homicide Detective Dave Walker said police are working to identify the man and who is renting the garage apartment. They have secured a warrant to continue their investigation.

"From there we're going to have to determine who this person is then obviously we can start working the actual murder investigation, and go back and forth and see what he brings, and who would actually benefit from his death," Sgt. Walker said.

Walker said that detectives are interested in talking to anyone who had contact with Platz from March 7 to March 9.

Police are interested in a photo taken of a bank robber in Monet, Missouri today. TPD believes the man resembles Platz and could even be him.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers at 918-596-2677.
