Man Questioned After Horse Found Dead in Sequoyah County

Posted: Updated:

A man is being questioned by Sequoyah County deputies after a mule was found dead and tied to a tree over the weekend.

Deputies with the Sequoyah County Sheriff's Office stated that Brian Walker is the person of interest in the incident. He's currently being held at the jail for unrelated charges including possession of a stolen firearm and eluding an officer.

Investigators were notified of the incident after a man reported his mule missing a couple weeks ago in an area of Sequoyah County.

Little information was given on the case. But officials believe Walker is a person of interest in the incident.

At this time the SCSO is not charging Walker for the death of the horse.

He's being held at the jail on more than $62,000 bond for the other incidents.

Anyone with information on this case should contact the SCSO at 775-9155
