Court proceedings are taking place for a woman facing multiple charges after a car wreck in 2012 left a 60-year-old Tulsa teacher dead.

Prosecutors filed second degree murder charges against Marquitta Littlebear in May 2012. This week her jury trial is scheduled to begin in Tulsa County.

Officers allege that Littlebear was driving the vehicle that struck and killed Susan Mamary near 51st and Yale. Mamary was an instructor at Marquette Catholic School.

At the time of the fatal wreck Littlebear was allegedly driving without a license. Her children were also in the car.

Littlebear's charges include child neglect, driving under the influence of intoxicants and child endangerment. She remains in custody at the Tulsa County Jail.
