Claremore police and the Tulsa County bomb squad responded to a Claremore home in the process of foreclosure after bank workers found what they believed to be hand grenades sitting on a counter in the residence.
The incident occurred on March 21, and when the bomb squad arrived on scene, they assessed the situation.
They then deemed that the grenades were fake, novelty items.
Sergeant for the investigation division of the Claremore PD Wayne Stinnett said he was glad crews proceeded cautiously just in case the grenades happened to be real.
