Bedlam Baseball Set For Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

Bedlam comes to Norman for the first time since 2011 as the No. 30 Oklahoma baseball team hosts Oklahoma State, Tuesday at 6:00 pm at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

Oklahoma claimed its second Big 12 series in as many tries to improve to 4-2 in the league and 20-9 overall. Junior Mac James leads the way with a .402 batting average for a team that is hitting .295. Sophomore left fielder Hunter Haley, coming off a three-hit day on Sunday, is second on the team at .349. He leads the Sooners with 29 runs, 25 RBI and a .594 slugging percentage. Redshirt-junior RHP Robert Tasin is anticipated to make his second start of the season on Tuesday. He is 2-1 with a 3.78 earned run average to go with 13 strikeouts in 16.2 innings. Tasin made his first collegiate start last Tuesday at Oral Roberts.

The Sooners' "Shave for the Brave" campaign continues this week in an effort to fundraiser for the OU Children's Medical Center and join the fight against childhood cancer. Oklahoma junior infielder Keach Ballard became the first Sooner to take the razor to his hair on Monday afternoon. At a Sooner Jr. assembly at Washington Elementary School in Norman, fifth grade teacher Mrs. Carol Fain held the honors of shedding Ballard's locks in front of the entire school. OU baseball has totaled over $16,000 in donations, with a team-goal of $20,000. Currently, the Sooners rank second of 120 teams from across the country taking part in the fundraising project.
