Lockdown Lifted at Colcord Elementary School

A lockdown was lifted Thursday morning after Colcord school officials received word of a potential threat.

Deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office were notified of the threat through a 911 call. Officials were told that a fifth grade student threatened a teacher and had possibly brought a gun to school.

At the scene deputies found that the student had left the elementary school and traveled to the high school. He was located and taken into custody.

Officials with the DCSO state that no injuries were reported and no shots were fired. No weapon was located at the time of the reported incident.

KTUL was told that the student had been reportedly suspended from the school. His name was not provided.
