Emergency crews responded to the scene of a fatal wreck in Creek County Monday morning.
A report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol states that authorities were notified of the wreck before 8 a.m. near Highway 48 and Carson Ridge Road. At the scene officers confirmed one person, Tilman Palmer, had died in the wreck.
After further investigation troopers determined that Palmer had been hit by another vehicle driven by a man identified as Russell Foutch. Both were traveling opposite routes on Highway 48 when Foutch's vehicle crossed the median and hit Palmer head on, according to the release from OHP.
Neither driver was wearing their seatbelts at the time of the wreck. Palmer died at the scene of the wreck and Foutch was transported to an area hospital with severe injuries.
Members of the Mannford Fire Department assisted OHP at the time of the wreck.
