Here we go-- I think it's safe to say that severe season 20-14 is upon us! All eyes are on Sunday for Tulsa and Green Country, as a powerful and classic severe-weather-system moves in across Oklahoma.
On Saturday, a dryline will park itself up in Western Oklahoma and KS. We will be right in the warm sector with strong South winds, increasing humidity and temperatures in the 80's. Once the front pushes East on Sunday, strong and severe storms will fire up. Some of the freshest information I'm looking at push the worst of this over Eastern Oklahoma Sunday evening, but all of us in Green Country need to be weather aware and prepared now. Storms with large hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes are all possible starting early Sunday afternoon and lasting throughout the day.
As we say- don't be scared, be prepared- and you should, with a plan”B” for any outdoor plans Sunday. Check the batteries in the weather radios and flashlights. Make sure your family knows where the nearest storm shelter is- the basement, an interior bathroom or closet, or a shelter in your garage.
Of course, we will continue to monitor the situation closely to keep you ahead of the storm.
