A Grove man faces child molestation charges this week after two teens reportedly revealed their inappropriate relationship to detectives.

Deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office booked Donald Smith into the jail for lewd molestation and forcible sodomy charges. His arrest comes almost a month after an investigation began into the allegations by a 15-year-old male.

Court documents obtained by KTUL state that officers were notified by officials with the Delaware County Children's Advocacy Network that the teen alleged Smith solicited him to perform sexual acts. Pornographic materials also were provided to the teen, according to the affidavit.

Officers were told by the teen that Smith picked him up in his truck and wanted him to work on his farm. At the farm he requested the teen perform sexual acts and to watch porn with him.

"I made an excuse so I didn't have to watch it," the boy described in the affidavit. "I told him the batteries were dead."

During their first day at the farm Smith reportedly removed a gun from the center console and showed the teen on their way to the farm, according to the documents.

"I am always armed," Smith said. "What happens at the farm stays at the farm."

Detectives continued their investigation and questioned an 18-year-old male about his relationship with Smith. He confessed to the officers that Smith had inappropriately touched and performed sexual acts on him, according to the affidavit.

"The first time I was 15 and it has happened like one hundred times," the teen told officers about his encounters with Smith.

Officers interviewed Smith a few days later at his residence. Court documents describe that he originally denied the accusations but admitted to them after being told the two teens had come forward.

Smith was taken into custody by investigating officers and transported to the Delaware County Jail. His bond stands at $40,000 and is due in court in May.
