Proposed 2015 Budget Eliminates 215 Positions

Posted: Updated:
Tulsa's Mayor Dewey Bartlett proposed his 2015 fiscal year budget this afternoon.

In the proposal, 215 positions would be eliminated. Of those 215 jobs, 188 of them are vacant and 27 are currently filled.

Public safety is not up for layoffs in 2015. Tulsa Transit hours will be reduced and there will be an increase in fares.

Other details include a reduction in mowing cycles from 10 to 6. The budget proposal also shows request to increase rates for water, sewer and storm water. EMSA rate would also increase to $5.45.

Mayor Bartlett will present his budget to City Councilors this evening.
