14-Year-Old Girl Arrested after Reportedly Admitting to Scam

Posted: Updated:

Glenpool Police say a teen female has been arrested after she reportedly scammed businesses out of cash in Glenpool, Jenks and south Tulsa recently.

The suspect, a 14-year-old female, allegedly went to businesses in these areas asking for money for the "Native Oklahoma fast pitch softball 2014-15 league," the Glenpool Police Department said. Authorities and victims were unable to confirm the existence of this organization.

After being located by the GPD and Tulsa Police Department, the suspect was interviewed by police and admitted that she had been committing fraud and that the organization she was collecting money for did not exist.

Glenpool PD also said the suspect robbed the Easton Sod Farm while it was closed for lunch.

Surveillance video captured the suspect. Tracy Powell with GPD said she will be charged as a juvenile.
