Posted: Updated:

A Sapulpa man was arrested in Tulsa on complaints of kidnapping and assault and battery with a deadly weapon Monday morning.

The police report states the man was arrested at an apartment located at 2601 E. 15th St. after he allegedly threatened to cut off a victim's hands and feet while holding up a hatchet.

The victim was reportedly invited to an apartment by the leaseholder and while in that apartment, the suspect, David Burns, confronted the victim.

Burns threatened the suspect and blocked the exit to the apartment, the report states.

The victim was able to eventually escape and call 911.

Burns was found inside by a Tulsa Police officer with a hatchet and a kitchen knife. He was booked into Tulsa County jail Monday morning and is being held on over $35,000 bond.

The suspect already had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
