The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports a Edmond man is dead after a one-vehicle collision around 8 p.m. Saturday.

The OHP investigation showed that the 44-year-old victim, Jeremy Brannon, was heading southbound on State Highway 85 when the car failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Brannon was transported by helicopter to a hospital in Joplin, where he eventually was pronounced dead from head and trunk internal injuries.

OHP reports the cause of the collision was that the car was traveling at an unsafe speed.

The collision occurred three miles south of Cleora in Delaware County.
