Posted: Updated:

A community block part will be held in Broken Arrow tonight aimed at improving the health of those in Tulsa County.

The event will be hosted at 7 p.m. by the Tulsa Health Department's Pathways to Health at the Bixby Northeast Elementary and Intermediate located at 11901 E. 131st Street.

The block party is free and will feature zumba and karate demonstrations along with health insurance information, blood pressure screenings, snacks and games for the whole family. The event itself will be the fifth in a series of events throughout Tulsa county with the purpose of improving the health of Tulsa's residents.

"There are so many agencies, coalitions and organizations working to improve the health of residents across Tulsa County," said Dr. Bruce Dart, Tulsa Health Department director. "We're coming to your neighborhood so everyone has the opportunity to learn about resources available in your own backyard."

Among the agencies present at the block party will be Tulsa Health Department, Community Health Connection, Combat Team and Saint Francis ShapeDown.
