Man Robbed, Struck with Shotgun at East Tulsa Motel

Posted: Updated:
Tulsa Police are investigating a robbery at an East Tulsa motel early Thursday morning.

Police responded around 1 a.m. to a report of a robbery at the Quality Inn near Highway 169 and 41st Street.

They said a man had brought a female acquaintance back to his motel. A few minutes later, two hooded men rushed into the room and stole his wallet, cash, and phone. One of the men had a shotgun with a pistol grip and reportedly used it to hit the victim.

"He was struck with the shotgun a couple of different times. Twice in the head and once in the chest," said Sgt. Chris Moudy. He said the man did not require hospitalization and his injuries are not severe. The man ran to the Jack in the Box next door to call for help.

Police said the suspects ran away heading northeast. A K9 officer lost their scent a short ways away, so it is possible they got into a car.

During the robbery, the woman left. Police want to question her.

Officers do not believe these suspects are linked to a recent string of other armed robberies in the area.
