Tulsa Habitat for Humanity Helps Build 300th Home

Posted: Updated:

Today at 1 p.m. the Tulsa Habitat for Humanity will hand the keys to the 300th family they have helped with homeowership in their 26 years of existence.

The Parish of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux is helping the 300th family with their homeownership. It is the 15th time St. Bernard has helped Tulsa Habitat.

"This is a great milestone and it could not have happened without the support of the Tulsa community, corporations, churches, clubs and countless volunteers," said Paul Kent, Tulsa Habitat executive director.

"We are blessed by St. Bernard's and their work here and thankful for their support of our mission," he said.

The 300th homeowner is Brandi Ellison, who will begin paying a 20-year, zero-interest mortgage. Ellison has been building her home along with the help of those from St. Bernard's Catholic Church in the last few weeks.
