Evacuation Drill Held At Tulsa Courthouse, Administration Building

Posted: Updated:

A planned evacuation drill took place Wednesday morning for two downtown Tulsa buildings.

Emergency crews began the exercise at 9:30 a.m. for the Tulsa County courthouse and the Ray Jordan Tulsa County Administration Building. Both are located at 6th and Denver in downtown Tulsa.

"It's important that we conduct these exercises regularly to ensure the safety of our employees and the public," Tulsa County Commission Chairman Ron Peters stated in a release.

Persons inside the building at the time of the procedure were notified to exit and gather at rally points. Evacuation routes were posted and two floor wardens for each floor also were present to assist in the operation.

Tulsa Fire Department and EMSA crews were notified of the operation. Deputies with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office also assisted.
