Oklahoma City Falls In Game 5 To San Antonio

Posted: Updated:

Heading into Thursday night's Game 5 in San Antonio, there was talk about this series being a carbon-copy of the 2012 Western Conference Finals that saw OKC rattle off four straight wins after dropping the first two games of the series.

So much for that train of thought.

Tim Duncan had 22 points and 12 rebounds, Manu Ginobili scored 19 points and the San Antonio Spurs rolled to a 117-89 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference finals.

Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green each had 14 points, Boris Diaw added 13 and Tony Parker scored 12 for the Spurs, who are a win away from returning to the NBA Finals after losing in seven games to Miami last year.

Kevin Durant scored 25 points, but Russell Westbrook had only 21 points and seven assists after finishing with 40 points and 10 assists in Game 4.  Serge Ibaka hit on just three of his 10 shots, finishing with 6 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

The stat of the night could be from the three-point line, where the Thunder hit just 25% (6/24) - while San Antonio connected on 50% of their three's (13/26).

Game 6 is Saturday in Oklahoma City.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
