Lee's Bicycle Donates 14 New Racks to Blue Dome District

Posted: Updated:

Area residents that frequent the Blue Dome District may notice new additions for bicycle-enthusiasts within the coming weeks.

Downtown store Lee's Bicycle donated 14 bicycle racks this week to the City of Tulsa. The store is located at Second Street and South Frankfort Avenue and has been celebrating their 100th anniversary.

"Alternative transportation is a key element to help mitigate the congestion we have," Owner Adam Vanderburg said. "A lot of people like to bicycle."

Vanderburg told KTUL that during most downtown events, he will see hundreds of bicycles traveling in and around. He hopes that the new racks will help attract visitors by giving them added security during anytime of the day.

He also said that the donation was made in part to celebrate the store's anniversary to give back to the community that has helped them grow. According to their website, Lee's Bicycle is Tulsa's "oldest bike shop."

Anyone seeking more information about the store can check out their website or call (918) 743-4285.
