Six Transported to Hospital After Wreck North of Owasso

Posted: Updated:

Six individuals, including 3 children, were transported to an area hospital Friday afternoon after a wreck north of Owasso.

Emergency paramedics were sent to the scene at Highway 20 and 145th East Avenue after being notified that several cars had wrecked and rolled over. Two vehicles, a Chevrolet Blazer and Chevrolet Colorado, were involved.

"Upon arrival, emergency crews found victims trapped in a rolled over vehicle in need of emergency extrication. An Owasso Fire Rescue Squad extricated at least one victim and found several others involved in the crash injured, including 3 juvenile children. Ambulances from the Owasso Fire Department and Mercy Regional Medical Services treated and transported at least 6 individuals, including the children, emergency status to Owasso and Tulsa hospitals," says Lt. Nick Boatman. "Witnesses state that one vehicle was traveling eastbound on State Highway 20, while the other vehicle was attempting to turn from westbound State Highway 20 onto 145th East Avenue. The cause of the collision is under investigation. State Highway 20 and 145th East Avenue are now back open."

Owasso Fire Department, Police Department and troopers with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol provided assistance.
