After Common Core: The Plan

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma is leaving Common Core. That leaves 42-states still on board and in-sync with the same curriculum.

Governor Mary Fallin says Oklahoma will adopt new standards, higher than those of other states.

She explained, Oklahoma children will not fall behind, that in fact, if they should relocate they will be more prepared.

"They will see Oklahoma as a superior education state and that is what we are going to strive to do in our state," said Fallin.

The state's departments of education, higher education and commerce will help formulate the new new standards, by August of 2016.
