Tallgrass Music Fest Treats Oklahomans to Traditional Tunes

Posted: Updated:

The 10th annual family-friendly Tallgrass Music Festival was held Friday and Saturday in Skiatook.

The event featured some of the most well-known bluegrass bands in the country, including Nu-Blu, Common Tyme, The Roys, ZooGrass Boys, Scenic Roots and Newton and Thomas

Director Larry Nunley said he appreciates bluegrass music because it's all acoustic, with musicians relying on their talent.

"Bluegrass is traditional American music," Nunley said.

The event was held at the Tallgrass Festival grounds. Nunley said some top-flight bluegrass bands have already been booked for next year's bluegrass festival.
