Bartlesville Man Arrested for Reported Assault on Pregnant Woman

Charges were filed this week against a Bartlesville man accused of punching a pregnant woman in her stomach.

Prosecutors allege that Michael Bosworth assaulted the woman, identified as Tameka Baird, on June 2. She was five months pregnant at the time and miscarried as a result of Bosworth's punch.

Court documents state that the incident took place outside of a convenience store in Bartlesville. Local police were sent to the area after the woman reported that she had been assaulted by Bosworth, who is also her ex-boyfriend.

Officers were told that Baird had met up with Bosworth to retrieve her belongings after breaking up with him. The situation escalated outside the store when both began arguing outside the store, according to the affidavit.

Bosworth and Baird moved into the store after she reportedly managed to get away from him. He followed her inside, took her cell phone and proceeded to punch her in the stomach before leaving the area.

Officers arrested and transported Bosworth to the Washington County Jail last week. He was booked for domestic assault and battery against a pregnant woman resulting in her miscarriage. A court appearance has not be scheduled at this time.
