2nd El Guapo's to Open in South Tulsa

Tulsa, Okla. - South Tulsa soon will have an El Guapo's Cantina at the southeast corner of 81st Street and Harvard Avenue.

El Guapo's Cantina on Harvard will be the second El Guapo's restaurant in the Tulsa area owned and operated by McNellie's Group, which has 12 other properties in Oklahoma.

"We're looking forward to attracting new customers while also providing the El Guapo's experience closer to home for our patrons who make the commute," said Vice President of Operations Jim O'Connor.

McNellie's Group leased a space at the southeast corner of 81st Street and Harvard Avenue that previously had been The Embers and SoCo. Construction will begin immediately to transform the facility into El Guapo's Cantina, which is scheduled to open early fall 2014.

El Guapo's Cantina on Harvard is expected to offer an indoor seating capacity for 300 patrons, including a private dining room that can accommodate 100 people. In addition, an outdoor patio is expected to seat 75 patrons.

"El Guapo's rooftop patio is always packed," O'Connor said. "We're excited to build a patio at the second location and provide another great outdoor dining atmosphere."

The south location will have the same menu of food items as the downtown El Guapo's, including the popular grilled fish tacos, flautas, fajitas and wet burritos.
