Tulsa Police Continue Search for Suspect After Fifth Woman Attacked

Posted: Updated:

Authorities are continuing their search this week for an individual accused of sexually assaulting women in the Tulsa area.

Police were notified Thursday morning that another woman had been attacked when the suspect broke into her residence near 900 S. Darlington. He allegedly entered the 50-year-old woman's home by cutting a screen on a back door.

"He then confronted the victim...as she slept in her bed," the Tulsa Police Department described. "The suspect rubbed himself against the victim in a sexual manner and made lewd comments to her consistent with those made in previous assaults."

Officials stated the suspect left the scene with the woman's cellphone. They added that in each instance the suspect targeted "older woman" who live alone or were home alone at the time of the attacks.

"It appears he has gotten a lot more violent than he was in previous attacks. It does appear that this individual is escalating his attacks," TPD's Leland Ashley said in a previous report.

KTUL has reported that previous attacks have occurred at 14th and Elwood, 42nd and Detroit, 41st and Peoria and near 71st and Yale. One of the victims was reportedly raped by the suspect.

Police stated that the individual is described as being a black male in his early twenties wearing a “bright” colored hoodie. He was described as being approximately 5’10” tall and about 160 lbs.

TPD added they wanted to remind the public to take appropriate precautions and to contact police by calling 911 if any suspicious subjects matching the description are seen. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
