Authorities in Cherokee County arrested three individuals earlier this week for their roles in a large marijuana grow operation.

Officers with the Hulbert Police Department lead the operation Wednesday morning at a residence on North Birch Street. Randolph Gourd, Jeanna Collins-Potts and Sammy Henson were inside the home at the time.

HPD Investigator Tom Pryor told KTUL that the search warrant was obtained after receiving tips from three different individuals about the operation. Agents with the District 27 Task Force assisted the officers in the marijuana bust.

Officers seized a total 132 marijuana plants that were each an approximate three feet tall. Twelve of the plants were reportedly within 200 feet of a licensed daycare center.

Ten baggies of marijuana seeds, each containing "thousands" of seeds inside, also were discovered and seized. Officers also located drug paraphernalia and one loaded handgun inside the residence.

Gourd, Collins-Potts and Henson were all transported to the Cherokee County Jail. They face possible charges for possession of marijuana within 200 feet of a daycare center, possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Pryor told KTUL that all evidence seized will be delivered the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Three samples will be used as evidence in the investigation, while the rest will be destroyed.
