The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says a standoff with an intoxicated elderly male at a residence in between Owasso and Collinsville ended peacefully this afternoon.
Authorities with the TCSO said they were conducting a welfare check on the suspect, but he wouldn't come out of his garage. Authorities said the man threatened that he had a gun and as a result the SWAT team was called in.
The standoff was near the 14000 block of East 122nd Street North in between Owasso and Collinsville. The standoff peacefully ended at 12:37 p.m. when the suspect walked out of his garage and surrendered. Authorities did not specify if the suspect actually had a gun.
The suspect was transported for a mental evaluation.
Several residents nearby informed KTUL that there were at least 10 deputy vehicles on scene.
