A man was immediately transported to a hospital for surgery after crashing a moped overnight Monday.
Tulsa police say the victim had just left a bar and believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash. Police say the man was eastbound on 61st street and turning southbound onto Lewis when he ran into a curb and hit either a manhole or a sewer grate.
The victim hit his head on the concrete and was immediately transported to the hospital. There is no word yet on his condition.
It is unclear if the victim was wearing a helmet. Police believe the man was heading home after leaving the bar.
