iRead Solutions Inc. apps make it easy to automatically action phone numbers, web and map addresses from printed text in magazines, posters, business cards, signs, flyers, newspapers - anywhere. It is QR code convenience with printed text.

Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) June 25, 2014

iRead Solutions Inc. has released today VisuCaller, VisuSurfer and VisuMapper, which are IOS apps with advanced OCR technology that automatically take action within seconds to quickly recognize phone numbers, web addresses and map addresses. These apps provide a new way to initiate phone calls, browse websites and get directions to a street address in a city from printed text - without typing or tapping.

Printed phone numbers, web and map address exist in many places. QR codes were invented to permit computer technology to easily and accurately detect information and are used in many places so people can easily browse to a website. However, humans cannot read these codes and there are many places where printed websites exist without a QR code. The apps released today give users the ability to experience the same convenience from QR codes with normal printed text. This is not only for web addresses but also for phone numbers and map addresses.

Reading a magazine or newspaper and finding out more information by browsing, calling or visiting has become easier today. "Before, when I would read a magazine, I would never take the time to pull out my phone and visit the website. It just felt like too much work to type the long web addresses. Now, with VisuSurfer, when I see a website address that I want to visit, I am browsing it in seconds," said Mona Regner, President of iRead Solutions Inc.

The OCR technology in the apps detects printed text very quickly. Three apps released today provide simple single purpose functions, which only recognize specific printed text. User interactions with these apps are minimal - move the IOS device so it can see the printed text of interest (tapping to focus if necessary) and wait as little as a second for the data to be recognized and take action. It is that simple.

VisuCaller recognizes and calls worldwide phone numbers. The detected phone numbers can be edited by adding missing area codes or by deleting unnecessary digits.

VisuSurfer recognizes and browses web addresses written in English language characters.

VisuMapper recognizes and gets directions to any street address in the United States or Canada. It contains databases of cities in the United States and Canada and uses this information to correct errors when scanning map address.

VisuCaller is available globally for free. Any iPhone user can experience the advanced OCR technology today. VisuSurfer is $1.99 and is available globally. VisuMapper is $2.99 and is only available in the United States and Canada.
