CMCI, a SBA 8(a) small business, has been awarded a contract by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to provide operations and maintenance support for the Customs and Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.

Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) June 25, 2014

CMCI has been awarded a contract by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to provide operations and maintenance support for the Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) portal and implement mutual recognition of U.S. trade partnership programs, which establish clear supply chain security criteria for members to meet and in return provides incentives and benefits like expedited processing.

CTPAT seeks to safeguard the world's vibrant trade industry from terrorists, maintaining the economic health of the U.S. and its neighbors. The partnership develops and adopts measures that add security but do not have a chilling effect on trade. And by extending the United States' zone of security to the point of origin, the customstrade partnership allows for better risk assessment and targeting, freeing CBP to allocate inspectional resources to more questionable shipments.

CBP is the largest federal law enforcement agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security charged with regulating and facilitating international trade, collecting import duties, and enforcing U.S. regulations, including trade, customs, and immigration. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and their weapons out of the U.S. while facilitating lawful international travel and trade. As the world's first full-service border entity, CBP takes a comprehensive approach to border management and control, combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

CMCI is a certified SBA 8(a) small business specializing in emerging technologies and defining, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions and architectures that drive strategic goals across the enterprise.

CMCI is leading strategic screening and targeting initiatives within the Federal Government that are delivering dramatic performance improvements in situational awareness, threat response, and risk mitigation of cargo and passengers bound for the United States. CMCIs integrated technology platform and common framework enables the integration, real-time collection, and in-depth analysis of large volumes of data from multiple sources, technologies, and vendors. CMCI is also developing and implementing policy frameworks, technical architectures, and bridging siloed databases to improve information sharing and collaboration among federal, state, and local government agencies.
