TCC Opens Physical Therapy Center

TULSA -

A new physical therapy clinic is now open at Tulsa Community College downtown.

It's named in honor of Nate Waters, who was a quadriplegic. He graduated from the school and is credited with helping others through their disabilities. He actively raised awareness about disabilities and made sure everyone had access to places in the community.

Organizers say it's been a long time coming, and Nate himself would love the progress. "The power of touch and the power of healing and how critical it is to be able to get the resources you need to make you more mobile and more able to focus on your abilities and not so much your disabilities, and I think that's what this clinic will do," says Suzanne Reese, the Associate Dean of Allied Health.

The $2 million project was partially funded by private donors. The building will provide learning opportunities to students and physical therapy to patients who might not be able to afford it otherwise.
