Claremore Residents Arrested for Alleged Trafficking of Heroin

Posted: Updated:

Two Claremore residents were arrested at approximately 1:20 a.m. Friday morning after a Tulsa County Sheriff's Office deputy reportedly found heroin inside their vehicle.

The arrest report states a trooper was stationed at a construction parking lot in the area of 7400 South 193rd East Avenue when he noticed the vehicle change lanes without using a turn signal.

The deputy then pulled the vehicle over and reported that the two passengers were fidgeting and nervous. The passengers offered conflicting stories, deputies say. They said were lost and had recently visited a friend in Nashville.

Syringes were found in the vehicle, but the driver, Matthew Braly, 25, said they were for his diabetes.

Due to the nervous behavior of the individuals, a past drug conviction for the passenger, Summer Stephens, 21, and their conflicting stories, the deputy used his K9 partner Guin to sniff the vehicle.

The K9 signaled there were drugs present and the deputy reportedly located heroin inside a Kings cigarette box along with black tar heroin in a plastic bag. The heroin weighed more than 2.7 ounces, deputies say.

Braly and Stephens were both arrested for the trafficking of heroin. Braly is being held on a little over $25,000 bond while the bond of Stephens was set at a little over $100,000.
