The 8th edition of the RBC Royal Bank Annual Charity Classic took place on June 16th, 2014, at the Summerlea Golf & Country Club, aiming to support local West Island charities.

Montreal, QC (PRWEB) July 03, 2014

This year, RBC partnered with Rideau Recognition Solutions and its CEO, Peter Hart, who served as honorary President of the tournament.

All proceeds from the tournament went directly to the West Island Community Shares and the VaudreuilSoulanges Health Care Foundation. The West Island Community Shares is a charity dedicated to supporting West Island community organizations and ensuring that residents have access to the health and wellness services they require. The VaudreuilSoulanges Health Care Foundation offers free, specialized palliative care to patients and their families, and has become a key foundation that many residents of the community have come to depend on.

"I am so incredibly honored to be presiding over the RBC Montreal West Island Golf Tournament. It is always incredible to see so many individuals come together for a good cause. And I couldn't be more excited to see these proceeds go to such great organizations, organizations that have become sources of relief and comfort to so many in our community," said Peter Hart.

We were delighted to have Peter Hart as the Honorary President for our 8th RBC Annual Golf Tournament this year. Peter and his entire team at Rideau were instrumental in making this tournament a true success. For the past 8 years, RBC has been a strong supporter of these 2 non-profit organizations in the West Island and Vaudreuil, which play a critical and an essential role, and remain true pillars in our communities, said Yan Liao.

RBC Montreal and Rideau Recognition Solutions are proud to announce that the tournament attracted over 140 golfers, which made possible the $62,000 raised at the event.
