Two Delaware County residents were taken into custody this week for their alleged roles in a large marijuana operation.

Officers with the West Siloam Springs Police Department arrested Pablo Angeles and Shalaunda Bird for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. This happened after the pair was pulled over in Kansas, Oklahoma.

Officials at the WSSPD told KTUL that the traffic stop lead investigators to a mobile home off of Highway 59. Agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and other area authorities assisted in the drug bust.

Investigators were initially notified about the marijuana operation after witnesses came forward to report the illegal activity. Officers discovered marijuana, a rifle and handgun and an estimated $1,300 in the vehicle when they pulled over Angeles and Bird.

Authorities stated that a total thirteen and a half pounds of marijuana was collected. Two minors were also in the vehicle at the time and were taken into protective custody.
