A 48-year-old woman is dead this week after being shot multiple times outside a Muskogee residence.

Initial details state the shooting happened late Wednesday in the 300 block of Douglas St. Officers when the Muskogee Police Department located the woman, identified as Rachelle Louise Hayes. She had "multiple gun-shot wounds" and unresponsive on the porch.

"The victim does not live at or have any known connection to the residence," a release described. Officers added that the homeowner initially found the woman after he returned home and then notified authorities.
