LINCOLN, Neb., July 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska Foundation invites golfers across the state to participate in the upcoming Jacupke Memorial Golf Tournament, August 4, 2014 in Hastings.

Participation, either as a golfer, hole sponsor, or donor to the IIAN Foundation, goes directly to fund Foundation scholarship programs that have benefited Nebraska students for over 20 years. Over $70,000 in scholarships has been awarded to date.

The tournament was named in memory of Jay Jacupke, CPCU, who was associated with Ellerbrock-Norris Agency in Hastings. Jay served the Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska in many capacities, including Secretary-Treasurer in 1995. He lost his difficult battle with cancer in 1996 at the age of 44.

The tournament location is Lochland Country Club in Jay's hometown of Hastings. Taking place on August 4, 2014, registration is available by calling the IIAN office at 402.476.2951 or visiting http://www.iian.org/Events/Pages/JacupkeGolfTourn. The registration deadline is July 28, 2014. The cost for participation is $100 per person, which includes lunch.

About the IIAN Foundation: The Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation formed in 1989 to provide scholarships for Nebraska high school and college students. In 2009, the Foundation expanded the scope of its programs and outreach to be an educational resource for current and future insurance professionals.
