Recent studies show that nearly 25% of all dental appointments are cancelled out of fear or anxiety of the scheduled procedure. Wauwatosa, WI cosmetic dentist, Dr. Richard Rosen, recently introduced new technology that is helping patients overcome their fear of the dentist by administering painless injections

The Wand Handpiece, created by Milestone Scientific, uses a computer-controlled anesthetic delivery system that provides a virtually pain-free experience for patients requiring anesthesia for restorations, root canals, cleanings, or other procedures. With The Wand, Dr. Rosen is able to give a continuous, even flow of anesthesia into the patients’ cheek or gums. Because the substance isn’t forced into the tissue, patients are free from pain.

“The two main patient fears we encounter are shots and drills, and with The Wand, we’re able to eliminate a lot of that fear,” said Dr. Richard Rosen. “It’s amazing the difference that this new technology makes in the attitude of our patients towards receiving dental care. Because we’re able to eliminate that source of pain, they’re much more willing to receive much needed oral care that’s vital for their overall health.”

In addition to the computerized technology, The Wand also incorporates and ergonomically designed hand piece that is lightweight and involves no syringe function. The device is grasped like a pen, giving dentists the opportunity to be much more accurate in the administration of anesthesia. The unique design also allows for new dental injections that aren’t possible with a traditional syringe, and eliminate the unnecessary numbness of the facial muscles, lips, and tongue.

“I’ve been a patient of Dr. Rosen for many years and the thing I appreciate most is that he is always up-to-date on the latest technology that make my visits better,” said a patient of Dental Arts Associates. “Dr. Rosen truly is a painless dentist.”

In addition to providing a wide range of general and cosmetic dental services, Dr. Rosen is well known for being a provider of single visit same day crowns in Wauwatosa, WI using CEREC technology. He is highly trained in porcelain restorations as well as dental implants for patients with missing, broken, or severely decayed teeth. Dr. Rosen also provides high quality teeth whitening in Wauwatosa, WI.

Dr. Rosen completed his dental education at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1981 and has been practicing dentistry in the Milwaukee area for nearly 35 years. He has been recognized as America’s Top Dentist by the Consumer’s Research Council of America for several consecutive years in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. Dr. Rosen is also published in the Guide to America’s Top Dentists and has been voted one of the top dentists in Milwaukee.
