Chris Jeffers Consulting Unveils Analysis of Tinnitus Treatments

Posted: Updated:

Tinnitus can be caused by many things, and some surprisingly simple treatments may be able to get rid of it, reports Chris Jeffers.

Tinnitus, often referred to as “ringing of the ear,” is a disease characterized by hearing sounds when such sounds aren’t actually present. Despite its common name, these sounds take far more forms than rings. Engine noise, such as the rumble of trains or the sound of motorcycles, is also prevalent. Roaring wind noise can also be heard.

Unlike hallucinations, these noises are the result of damage to the ear. Most commonly, it is a side-effect of noise-induced hearing loss, but it can also be the result of ear infections, oxidative stress, or even emotional stress. Because of the different causes of the disease and the wide variation in severities, there is no single remedy for it.

“One of the most vexing things people run into is the lack of effective medical treatments,” said Chris Jeffers of Chris Jeffers Consulting. “Conventional ear doctors can offer masking devices and other such things, but they don’t address the root cause of the disease or even provide true alleviation of symptoms.”

What makes tinnitus so hard to treat is the fact that it usually results from physical damage to parts that are far too fine to replace with any sort of prosthetic device. The hairs inside the ear are actually bent or broken off by overly-loud noises. Other ear problems involve the auditory nerve. When this nerve sends extraneous signals, there is no real way to stop it from doing so.

“This doesn’t meant that there’s never any conventional medical help,” Jeffers added. “Tinnitus that results from problems other than noise-related damage can sometimes be cured by fixing the underlying issues. Treatment for an ear infection, for example, can get rid of the irritation that’s triggering the nerve to generate signals. Having impacted wax removed from blocked ears can also restore normal hearing.”

Fortunately, alternative therapies exist that help people deal with the more traditional forms of tinnitus. A book, The Tinnitus Miracle by Thomas Coleman, goes through these therapies to determine which tinnitus remedies are likely to actually work. This and other materials are reviewed at http://www.besttinnitustreatments.com, along with several of the popular remedies that exist.

“By going over all of the options, we hope to help people find relief or even a cure for their tinnitus problems,” Jeffers said. “We know how aggravating it can be to constantly hear a noise that can never be turned off, so we’ve done our best to provide solutions to sufferers no matter what has caused their trouble.”
