Renowned Lakeside Café Teams Up with Water Sports Facility to Offer Retail, Lessons, Rentals and More

Legendary Lake Austin restaurant, Ski Shores Café, announced its joint venture with New Braunfels-based water sports facility, Texas Ski Ranch, adding a plethora of water-centric services to its lakeside offerings. Including a retail hub, ski lessons, and boat rentals, the partnership will establish the famed café as an all-encompassing destination for food and fun on Lake Austin.
Patrons can purchase swimwear, sunscreen, wakeboards and other lake essentials from a colorful airstream located at the entrance to Ski Shores Café. Novices can partake in lessons led by experienced instructors behind Malibu boats, covering everything from water skiing to wakeboarding and wakesurfing. Or, customers can meet up with a group for a bite at the Café and then take the festivities onto the water with boat and pontoon rentals.
Teaming up with Texas Ski Ranch was a no-brainer for us, says Rick Engel, co-owner of Ski Shores Café. As an iconic lakeside hot spot offering great food and entertainment on the shore, it was only natural to extend our offerings onto the water with the help of TSR. Rick Engel (Ski Shores Café), Paul Bialick (Texas Ski Ranch), and Gabe Rex (Ace Marine) have come together to create Ski Shores Marina to cater to customers complete boating needs while on Lake Austin. Ski Shores Marina is now open Monday through Saturday, offering extended hours on weekends for lakeside emergencies, towing, and service.
